„In this paper I would like to propose that the multiple possibilities of narrative action in children's fiction, especially fantasies such as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland or the Harry Potter stories, bring these stories very close to computer games. I believe that certain sub-genres of children's fiction work with premises similar to the computer game as regards narrative flexibility and other features. A child's dream, as in Alice or in Hojoborolo, can create an unreal world full of constant activity as in computer games.“http://www.english-literature.org/essays/ alice_video.html - Cached
„A good yarn that is sufficiently un-respectable (these books are surrounded by denunciations of their literary third-rateness from literary authorities) not to have been made into compulsory reading, and which therefore makes a change from being nagged by one's parents to practice the cello? All of that, I dare say. Whatever the reason, it certainly shows that there will always be things that children really, really want to read, and which they will accordingly read avidly, if they can read at all, and which will consequently make them better at reading.“http://www.brianmicklethwait.com/education/archives/ 000301.htm - Cached

„Notes on Ch9: parts of the ritual dialogue are taken from "The Witches Bible" by Janet and Stewart Farrar and other parts I wrote myself or picked up online. The book is in the Gardnerian tradition which although I don't particularily follow was handier than writing the whole thing myself. I'm sure they would strongly object to drawing down the moon and enacting the great rite with two males as they are always going on about male/female polarity but I figured bugger that (literally!)“http://www.marysia.com/writing/circles3.html - Cached

„Those of you who followed the sad debacle at Massey University over the attempted disestablishment of the Women's Studies programme last year, will be relieved to know the struggle merely re-energised some of us to come up with brighter plans for the Journal. The Journal's move from the Massey web pages follows the decision of Lynne Alice and Lynne Star to take voluntary redundancy and form a research company Third Wave Research Associates. Contributors to the Journal are eager to start the new millennium fresh with ideas and energy...“http://www.wave3.net.nz/fmst/62.html - Cached
„At 9:15 a.m., Cambridge City Clerk Margaret Drury told the couple:'I now pronounce you married under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.' It was among the first - if not the first - same-sex weddings taking place throughout the state on Monday, the day that same-sex couples could wed under a court order… … In Boston, David Wilson and Robert Compton became the first of the seven couples who sued the state to be married. At the Arlington Street Church, Wilson and Compton exchanged vows under a rainbow flag and to the strains of the Boston Gay Men's Chorus singing "Marry Us." An excerpt from the landmark Supreme Judicial Court decision that legalized gay marriage was read as an invocation at the Unitarian Universalist church…” The report said that 15 protestors from a Baptist church stood by with signs protesting the allowing of gay marriages in America. These people were decried as hate mongers.“http://www.raptureready.com/rap16.html - Cached
„The stories say that the shadow of last month’s debacle at The Hague hung over the marathon talks in Johannesburg this week, with many NGOs sporting stickers and banners saying “Don’t Repeat The Hague.” The stories explaing that the agreement that was finally worked out early on Sunday will reduce or ban the production and use of 12 persistent organic pollutants, or POPs, with mechanisms to eliminate other POPs deemed harmful in years to come.“http://www.pestlaw.com/x/news/2000/ 20001210.html - Cached
