„I grabbed the latest version of Knoppix and almost everything works out of the box. Ethernet driver, keyboard layout, DVD/CD recorder, ethernet driver, soundcard, USB, PCMCIA, APM, and so on. The two things not detected were the camera and the monitor's wide screen aspect (even though I fed the correct resolution to the boot menu). It even detected and loaded agpgart and the Intel i830 driver - so I have out of the box 2D and 3D acceleration.“

„I haven't actually used any PCMCIA cards apart from a Buffalo WLI-PCM-L11GP WI-FI card and I can't even tell you much about that. From what I can tell PCMCIA works fine but getting that card to work is another matter (that's more of a kernel issue I believe). „Then apm works perfectly for my a21e: apm -s, apm -S, shutdown, poweroff, unplug power line when the a21e is on, Fn-F3, Fn-F4, and brightness keys all become so friendly to me. Since apm does not work for Jouni under RH7.0 with kernel 2.4.3, the problem is probably from the newest kernel 2.4.
