Product Description:

Lite-On's versatile, dual-disc LVR-1001 lets you watch DVDs, record off-air TV programming to video CD, and copy digital media files from flash-memory devices to recordable CDs (memory cards not included). Want to dub home video footage from your camcorder to a VCD to share with friends or family? Just plug it right into the unit's handy front-panel audio/video input jacks, load a recordable CD, and away you go. Comparable in quality to a VHS videocassette, a VCD holds 74 minutes of compressed audio/video programming, while an SVCD packs in as much as 80 minutes (at slightly lower resolution). The recording deck functions as a computer CD writer, using affordable data-grade CDs (as opposed to the slightly pricier discs earmarked for "music" or "audio") to write AV or audio-only discs. If you're watching a music-awards show, for instance, you can record the broadcast audio directly to a CD for use in any CD player. The recorder uses either write-once CD-Rs or rewritable CD-RW discs. Please be aware that you cannot copy DVDs to either DVD or CD with this device, though you may copy a VCD to another VCD between drives. Discs require about 30 seconds of preparation before recording, and all must be briefly "finalized" before they're ready for use in CD players, DVD players, or other devices. Top-of-the-line component-video outputs help minimize digital and line-scan artifacts on compatible advanced televisions, while composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television. A set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio outputs (one each of RCA coaxial and Toslink optical) for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver, and the unit accommodates older, nondigital surround receivers by decoding Dolby and DTS signals for output to multichannel (left, center, right, left/right surround, and subwoofer) analog inputs. A 10-bit, 54 MHz video converter and 192 kHz/24-bit audio digital-to-analog audio converter work in tandem to ensure optimum reading and processing of all disc formats. Other features include 8x zoom, repeat play, and parental controls to keep young eyes off mature content. What's in the Box DVD player, remote control, remote batteries, user's manual, a stereo analog audio interconnect/composite-video cable, and an AC power cord.
