[Archived in Connect Dvd To Vcr, Entry]
Jason Meserve on 2003/02/20:
„VBrick will soon begin shipping a new appliance for converting and streaming MPEG-4 video over a network. The new VBXcast can connect to just about any video source, including a VCR, DVD player or video camera. It encodes into MPEG-4 in real-time and delivers it across an IP network. Applications can include distance learning, surveillance and delivering TV channels to desktop users over the existing data network.“

Some slightly related:
„VBrick made good on its promise to deliver an appliance capable of encoding and delivering an MPEG-4 stream with this week's release of VBXcast . The relatively small appliance can take input from a video camera, DVD player or VCR and encode on the fly into MPEG-4, with video rates ranging from 8K bit/sec up to 2M bit/sec using unicast or Multicast technology. VBXcast is available for $4,995.“http://napps.nwfusion.com/weblogs/multimedia/archives/ 002591.html - Cached
