There was a time where everything I owned was Sony

[Archived in Entry, Toshiba Dvd Recorder]

There was a time where everything I owned was Sony kwc on 2003/11/11:

„Personal complaints: their DVD players are boring (Gateway sells a more interesting player), their laptops haven't improved since they used to be bleeding edge, Toshiba makes a cooler TiVo (w/ DVD recorder), the PS3 and PSP are way off, even Apple has a cheaper price point, their MP3 player line is stagnant and user-disfriendly, memory stick is almost as fragmented as all of the other flash memory types combined (Memory Stick, MagicGate, Duo, PRO), their wireless technology is absurdly overpriced... “

Style Invitational 530

„I pretty much only liked the top two entries from The Style Invitational Week 530, in which the contestants had to take a word, and then add/alter/delete a letter to come up with three variations on the word and an appropriate definition. Continue reading "Style Invitational 530"“

AUS: Your Comments 7

„I have read countless articles ranging from Success magazine to BRW and the evidence supporting the future of companies like Amway is extremely overwhelming, despite your seemingly unwavering lack of faith in the system. Let me start by saying that I agree with you almost entirely that the products are not all that cheap, and that the quality is not really up to scratch, however the are "good enough" for people to use and that is all that is needed in this world. The reason I have joined Amway is because the money to be made overseas in countries such as India, the Phillipines, Vietnam and South Africa is monumental, and simply cannot be denied no matter which way you wish to see it happen?“

The Unapologetic DVD Enthusiast by Drew Reiber         Nolan's Pop Culture Review #119

„From what I’ve seen, the most dependable and affordable DVD players you can find locally are probably Samsung and Toshiba brand products. Having owned and operated a Toshiba SD-1700 for over a year now, and having friends with an earlier Samsung model, I can tell you that these two companies have given us a product that not only performs better than some competition (Sony especially), but is dependable and hasn’t yet demanded repair service or replacement. Keeping track of their latest models, I’ve made the most pleasant discovery.“

„It could be one of the most boring blogs Coolfer has ever read. If I were to give him some pointers (being a blogger I think it is my right to do so) it would be this: Get to the point!“

Convergence

„Sony is leading the charge - they are building IM capabilities into the Playstation 2 , and they're teaming with IBM and Toshiba on the "cell" processor , which may serve as the basis for the PS3 and seems to have the potential to serve as the basis for a wide array of internetworked consumer electronics. Only Sony has the breadth of hardware (computers, game consoles, home theater components, etc.) to really see this convergence thing through. This positions Sony very well not only for making a single device that acts as the "digital hub" for a household (to use a phrase coined by another major convergence player, Apple) but also the "spokes" to be attached to that hub.“

PC/TV/Audio Integration

„     Indeed, there are so many more advantages to integrationover the seperate settop/component box, why wouldn't everyone?!  Becauseright now it's an incredible pain to design and configure, especially becausebleeding edge hardware comes only with window's drivers.  Not manypeople would settle for a settop box that crashed and had to be rebootedall the time either.  However coming soon are an array of integrationsolutions for the common man.“
