TiVo: The solution to all of life’s problems

[Archived in Entry]

[BenClark.com] Josh just brought this to my attention, from the Onion (no link provided). So true, so true. I am that friend, as several of you will attest.

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

[Ink in My Coffee] May 19 Part II Neptune’s going retrograde tonight...: That was the best possible way to handle it, and kudos to the creative team. And to the actors - the scenes between Josh Holloway and Matthew Fox always crackle in the best possible way. And didn’t I tell you they’d still be using Boone? If you find out the contract terms, you can figure out the rest.

Josh and Tammy in Israel: One fella from South Africa who has been on holiday for 3 months (nice huh?), and a guy from Germany who is working on his master thesis in political science and making a documentary. We sat up, played cards and talked about everything from 9-11 to Israeli film makers. There was also another guy there who speaks Arabic and Hebrew and was taking an English lesson from the South African. He told me that my name means "date" (like the fruit).

The Food Section: Is My Blog Burning? Roasted Chestnut Soup: Bittman's "minimalist" approach reduces dishes to their most essential elements, they are uncomplicated recipes which are often also relatively easy to accomplish. This soup recipe only requires chestnuts, celery, onion, chicken stock, salt, and pepper. Moreover, it only takes a few minutes to prepare the ingredients, and just 40 minutes to cook. I had homemade chicken stock in the freezer (though he says canned stock will also work), and I unintentionally saved some time on the chestnuts by using ones that came pre-roasted and vacuum-packed in the jar.

http://www.mindsound.org  Josh's Blog: On the way there we stopped at the Hirshhorn Museum and SculptureGarden, where we saw (among other things) intricate geometric sculptures made ofHeftybags and wire clothes hangers, a really neat exhibit on the difficultiesinvloved in curatingmodern art, and a wonderful mechanical installation where pneumatic devicesdrop white paper sheets one by one to a deeply piled paper floor. At theNatural History museum we saw dinosaur skeletons, contemporary skeletons (from ashrew to a gray whale), meteorites, lunar rock, anthropological artifacts, gorgeous natural mineral formations, unbelievably huge gemstones, and an insectzoo. After that we took the subway out to Dupont Circle and had sushi at Uni,A Sushi Place. Marvellous.

Josh’s Culinary Endeavors » Blog Archive » Prepping Easter Dinner: $70 later I’m walking out of the store with two large paper bags. I prefer paper bags when I shop at Central Market because 1) they’re larger 2) it’s the trendy thing to do and 3) since I am a tree hugging, bra burning, patchouli stinking hippy I like to think that my grocery shopping refuse will rapidly biodegrade along with my aluminum cans, batteries and plastic bags that I get when I shop at other grocery stores.

welcome to nadstown: nerdiest nerds from nerdsville 4 eva (aka ...: the history of nerdsville is as a complex tapestry of nerdy events woven with nimble fingers in the darkest regions of the library or 'librario'. perhaps the most nerdy event to date can be traced back to the centre of the tapestry, near the embroidered tolkien tableaux. historians believe that they are better than us and also that this section of the tapestry depicts the mayor of nerdsville placing spock ears on his toaster to enhance the 'warp factor' of his cinnamon loaf.
