„When I see kids who are already in second grade, but who can't read their own name and aren't even sure how to count to ten reliably getting video games and DVD movies for their own personal portable DVD player (some of them even rated R), I have to wonder, what was the gift-giver thinking? Are these even really "gifts?" Or are these bribes, expressions of guilt or evidence of adults who can't seem to make themselves happy and are living vicariously through the temporary and superficial pleasure of the children around them?“
