Product Description:
The Zenith DVR313 DVD recorder relegates the household VCR to paperweight status, as it not only plays DVDs, CDs, and MP3s, but also records TV programs onto DVD-R/RW discs for high-quality long-term enjoyment. The DVR313 employs progressive-scan technology to deliver a superior picture for both playback and recording. Progressive scanning processes video data at a full 480 lines of horizontal resolution per frame, resulting in crisper, clearer images. The recorder/player also resizes video and computer images to 16:9 widescreen or 4:3 conventional formats to correct for varying motion-picture ratios. The DVR313 is equipped to meet modern home theater demands, with the ability to record in 5.1-channel Dolby Digital sound for a theaterlike atmosphere. The six distinct audio channels deliver an unmatched surround-sound experience when combined with a compatible surround receiver and speakers. The unit also offers built-in DTS decoding, in addition to MP3 decoding for music downloaded from the home PC. The recorder is compatible with DVD, DVD-R/RW, CD, and CD-R/RW discs. In addition to its more sophisticated features, the DVR313 also includes a host of essential DVD functions, including variable high-speed scan (up to 100x speed) programmable play, search, bookmarks, repeat play, and slow-motion frame advance. The DVR313 connects with other components through its optical and coaxial digital audio outputs, S-video output, and component-video output, the latter of which delivers the highest-quality picture by separating the video data into three distinct signals before sending it to the TV. The unit comes with a remote control and two AAA batteries. What's in the Box DVR313 DVD player/recorder, S-video cable, AV cables, RF cable, remote control, two AAA batteries, user's manual, registration and warranty cards

Comment: great recorder Rating:
I have been very pleased with the way this recorder works, everything is one touch and the recordings come out fine. I have recorded vhs and my digital satelite and at 4 hour recordings.
The only thing I would have liked was a second set of inputs in the back instead of in the front. So far nobody mentions the i-link conection for your video camera, it has one in the front, behind a cover.
Comment: SO FAR VERY HAPPY Rating:
I PURCHASED THIS MACHINE TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO WRITING THIS REVIEW AND SO FAR I AM VERY HAPPY. I WANTED TO BE ABLE TO RECORD MY OLD VHS TO DVD AND IT WORKED VERY WELL. I ALSO RECORDED FROM MY DIRECT TV AND THAT CAME OUT GREAT AND ALL THIS WAS DONE RECORDING IN THE LOW QAULITY FORMAT (6 HOURS). I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO BEEN ABLE TO RECORD IN 5.1 BUT SO FAR HAVE NOT FOUND A MACHINE THAT CAN DO THAT. I DIDN'T SEEM TO FIND ANY PROBLEMS THAT OTHER RECORDERS SEEM TO HAVE, WHEN I SHOPPED THE INTERNET FOR A RECORDER. THIS ALSO HAS AN I-LINK CONNECTION FOR CAMCORDERS THAT IS NOT MENTIONED IN ANY SPEC SHEETS (ITS ON THE FRONT OF THE MACHINE BEHIND A FLIP DOWN COVER, ALONG WITH ANOTHER SET OF INPUTS) BUT HAVE NOT TRIED THAT OUT YET.
